How to Perform an Engagement Test of Different Activity Levels in HubSpot

At times you'll want to understand how different activity levels interact with your email program or specific campaigns.  This can easily be accomplished by following the below steps.

First, you'll want to create your email in HubSpot and clone this email four times.  We recommend naming these emails something similar to the below so that they can easily be distinguished when reporting on them.

  • <email name> - Evaluating
  • <email name> - Active
  • <email name> - Passive
  • <email name> - Inactive

Next, you'll want to create a separate workflow within HubSpot for each of the above emails similar to the way you would create a workflow for a normal email send where you're using Seventh Sense.  We recommend using the same naming convention of each workflow.

  • <email name> - Evaluating
  • <email name> - Active
  • <email name> - Passive
  • <email name> - Inactive

Once this is complete, you can simply schedule the same list in Seventh Sense and uncheck the activity classes that do not match the workflow.  For example, let's say the list name in HubSpot is "All Seventh Sense Leads".  You'll want to schedule this email using the same parameters for each email, but uncheck the activity classes that do not associate with workflow.

  • For the Evaluating class schedule "All Seventh Sense Leads" to the "<email name> - Evaluating" workflow and uncheck the Active, Passive and Inactive activity segments.

  • For the Active class schedule "All Seventh Sense Leads" to the "<email name> - Active" workflow and uncheck the Evaluating, Passive and Inactive activity segments.

  • For the Passive class schedule "All Seventh Sense Leads" to the "<email name> - Passive" workflow and uncheck the Evaluating, Active and Inactive activity segments.

  • For the Inactive class schedule "All Seventh Sense Leads" to the "<email name> - Inactive" workflow and uncheck the Evaluating, Active and Passive activity segments.

You can then monitor the results of the way each of these activity classes perform inside of HubSpot.
